Yolanda Fernandez Obituary
Born October 1, 1933, in Cienfuegos, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Francisco Pena and Emelia Freyre.
Yolanda was a Spanish Resource teacher at Richard Montgomery High School, Rockville, MD, for over 25 years.
Yolanda is survived by her daughter, Marilys Gilbert; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Abilio Fernandez; and her sisters, Ester, Aide, Gladys, and Azucena.
A mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Leo Catholic Church. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in St. Leo Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of the Panhandle would be appreciated.
