Gloria Anderson Obituary

Anderson, Gloria Louise Gloria Louise Anderson, loving and devoted mother and wife, died Sunday, February 20, 2005, at her home in Linden. A Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 25, at 10:00 a.m. at Leeds Episcopal Church in Markham with Rev. Leland Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Leeds Cemetery. Mrs. Anderson was born May 18, 1926, in Washington, DC, daughter of Sylvia Louise Shepherd Plaugher of Alexandria and the late Ward G. Plaugher. She was the wife of Conway Marion Anderson who passed away on June 4, 1999. Surviving are one daughter Patricia Franklin of Alexandria; eight sons Conway Marion Anderson of Greenville, SC, John Anderson of Loudoun, Richard Anderson of Alexandria, Raymond Anderson of Eureka, CA, Brian Anderson of Dallas, TX, James Anderson of Clifton, Carl Anderson of Chapel Hill, NC, and Ward Anderson of Linden; two sisters Gwen Douglas of Morattico and Betty Nalls of Alexandria; twenty-two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Robert Michael Anderson. Pallbearers will be members of the family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 24, from 6-9 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601 or to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, 14 Pennsylvania Plaza, Suite 1400, New York, New York 10122.
