Kevin Charles "K.C." Ryan

Ryan, Kevin Charles  K.C. 41, of Haymarket, Virginia, died on February 22, 2005 from complications related to long-standing heart disease. Mr. Ryan was prominent within the telecommunications industry in North America. He was the director of national accounts, Mid Atlantic region, for Quest Communications from 2000 to 2002, and worked earlier for XO Communications, Access One Communications, and LDDS, among other firms. He was instrumental in setting up a wireless communications backbone in Mexico while serving for the American Network Exchange. In Mexico, he earned the nickname  el Perro Grande . He was active in sales and marketing, operations, and customer services at the executive levels. Kevin Ryan was an outstanding high school athlete, playing football, basketball, and tennis, in schools in the United States and in England, where his father, the late Colonel James P. Ryan, was stationed with the army. He was an avid fan of Michigan State University Sports, especially basketball, and served in MSU s Army ROTC. He graduated from MSU in 1987. Mr. Ryan read widely and especially enjoyed military and Irish history. He was also known for his conversational skills. In the summer of 2000 he sponsored the Ryan Family Millennium Reunion in Haymarket which attracted some 150 of his Ryan family relations from throughout the United States, and another in 2002. Mr. Ryan is survived by his mother, Joan M. Ryan of Martinsburg, West Virginia, his brother, James P. Ryan, Jr. of Lorton, Virginia, and his sister Michelle Ryan Ward, her husband Richard Ward, and seven nieces and nephews, of Sterling, Virginia. Kevin will have a funeral Mass at Saint Leo's Catholic Church in Inwood, WV Saturday, the 26th of February, at one pm, with interment to occur immediately afterwards.
