Lorell Funke-Davies Obituary

Funke-Davies, Lorell Elise (Age 46) Oakton, VA, died Saturday, June 10, 2006. Born in Elkton, MD on December 6, 1959, she was the daughter of Richard E. and Sandra Reynolds Funke, Elkton, MD. A 1977 graduate of Elkton High School, she was a history major at Franklin & Marshall College, receiving her degree in 1981. Mrs. Funke-Davies married and moved to Virginia in 1984 where she had a successful career in banking and then dedicated herself to her children. In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband of 21 years, Edward C. Davies; children, Ashle and Colbey, at home in Oakton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Matthew G. and Nancy Funke, Elkton, and Barton and Andrea Funke, Earleville, MD; and grandmother, Ruth G. Funke, Elkton. Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, June 13 at Elkton United Methodist Church, 219 E. Main St. Elkton, where visitation will begin at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD. Memorial service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, June 14 at Old Presbyterian Meeting House, Alexandria, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Elkton United Methodist Church or Old Presbyterian Meeting House, in care of Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD 21921.
