Our sympathy to the family. Barb and John were such good neighbors. We shared lots of laughs and have many fond memories.

We send our sincere sympathy to all of the family of John. We miss John and Barb, as neighbors and friends. We know that they are together in a much better place, without pain or suffering. They are probably in charge of "Heavens" raspberry patches and apple orchards.

We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

To all in family,

My condolences to you all. I know it is a difficult time. I was a friend of John. Sometimes within family we do not really see the hearts of people. John loved his family and though he had his convictions he was first and foremost about others and especially about family. We shared a lot over the years. John was a good friend and helped many deal with health issues and life issues. We shared much about life issues and situations and John always was with compassion and caring. I will miss John as a friend. I already do. I did two months ago when I became aware that things changed with John. It was not the same.
Sadly I will not be able to attend the funeral. I wish I could be there. I was not able to visit him in hospice either but truthfully it was painful to know what was going down with him.
Yet I know he is in a better place for his love of God and Jesus. I give thanks that God took him home without a lot of pain and suffering. My mother passed on the same way within two months. Praise God.
God has His reasons and His purposes and timing for things that we cannot understand. John had so many aspirations to help others and do more after his wife died and to come to grips with her death. He was in transition when he then changed. His heart was in the right place for all.
John was compassionate and caring and giving. He donated to those doing missionary work and also caring about others. He was most generous with himself and his time for others. In the years I knew him we both learned a lot and shared much. I miss John. We did not know each other long term but over the past 10 years we became friends and this man was a true friend. Not only to me but to many and he cared. God bless you John.

I am stunned. How sad. What a great advocate for the residents of Marathon County. I worked with John on the Transportation Coordination Committee for many years. He will truly be missed. Please accept my condolences.

I served with John on the Marathon County Board and on some committees with John. He was so smart and interested in health & human services and public safety. John was respected for his bible study classes in the Marathon County Jail. We lost a great public servant in John. It was an honor to be on the county board with him. My sympathy to John's family.
