Norman Wente Obituary

Norman Lee Wente, age 73, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on March 15, 2019. He was born on May 28, 1945, in Waverly, to Erwin and Marie (Bloeser) Wente. He graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock High School in 1963 and attended Mason City Junior College.

Norman's life-long love of cars led to a career centered in selling and servicing cars and tires. He began at Goodyear Tires in Waterloo, and then transferred to Kelly Springfield Tires in Florida. He worked for and managed several car dealerships in Central Florida, and for a time owned his own business, Insurance Resources of America. He overcame kidney cancer and other health issues and retired from Mannheim Auto Auction.

Norm is survived by his son, Brian (Karen) Wente, of Orlando, Florida, his daughter, Michelle (Mike) Rand of Lakeland, Florida, two granddaughters, a sister, Rondalyn (Glenn) Schacht of Omaha, Nebraska, two nieces, a nephew, and several cousins.

There will be a private family memorial service at a later date.
