Robert Rosol Obituary
Robert was born on April 29, 1935, in Waverly, Iowa, the son of Linda Anna (Poppe) Rosol and Joseph Anton Rosol. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith, and attended the Waverly and Finchford school systems. Bob served in the U.S. Navy from 1953, until his honorable discharge in 1957. In August of 1957, Bob married Elsie Nelson. The couple later divorced. He was then united in marriage to Lois (Klemp) Cary on May 26, 1990, in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Bob worked at Clay Equipment in Cedar Falls, Iowa, Hydrotile in Nashua, Iowa, and Schield Bantam in Waverly, Iowa, before working at John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa in 1961. He retired in 1991. Bob was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and VFW Post #2208 and Amvets Post #0079, both in Waverly. Bob enjoyed fishing and growing roses.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lois; two daughters, Verla (Charles) Lahr of Greene, Iowa and Phyllis Disrud of Waverly, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jason Lahr (Partner Frank Partin) of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Joe Lahr (Partner Brad Metz) of Greene, Iowa, Chris Rosol of Dumont, Iowa, Randi Rosol of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Alaina Lahr of Greene, Iowa; seven great-grandchildren, Allison Rosol, Autumn Rosol, Tucker Robert Rosol, Breanna Norton Rosol, Delaney Quario, Atticus Rosol, and Adalyn Rosol; and two sisters, Beverly West of Waverly, Iowa and Catherine Busch of Shell Rock, Iowa; two sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debra Rosol (1961-2011); brother, Raymond Rosol; and brother-in-law, Fred West.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 21, at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:45 p.m. and for an hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 22, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Waverly. Burial will follow at Harlington Cemetery in Waverly with the Waverly Area Veterans Group giving honors. Memorials may be directed to Bob's family for later designation and online condolences may be left at www.kaisercorson.com, 319-352-1187.
