Steven DeHoet Obituary

Steven "Hooter" E. DeHoet, 55, of Waverly, died Saturday, Dec. 18, at his home in Waverly.
Steve was born Sept. 28, 1955, the son of John and Norma (Zirbel) DeHoet in Grinnell. He attended Maquoketa High School and then served with the Army National Guard for two years.
On Oct. 25, 1979, he was united in marriage to Sherry Schneider at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waverly. He worked for various construction companies in the area and had currently been employed with Schneider Milling in Waverly for 14 years. Sherry passed away July 23, 2008.
Steve is survived by two sons, Justin DeHoet of Waverly and Corey (Nicole) DeHoet of Emmetsburg; daughter, Courtney DeHoet of Charles City; step daughter, Christy Schneider of Charles City; sisters, Carolyn Wilslef of Preston, Pat Diesing of Maquoketa, Cathy (Doug) Taylor of Putnam, Conn. and Dena Manderscheid of Welton; brother, Richard (Linda) DeHoet of Jesup; and four grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Sherry and father, John "Dale" DeHoet.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly with burial in Harlington Cemetery in Waverly. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly and at the church one hour prior to service time on Thursday.
Memorials may be directed to the family and online condolences may be left for the family at www.kaisercorson.com. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly is in charge of arrangements.
