Thomas Limbach Obituary

Thomas Joseph Limbach, of Lansing, IA, born June 24, 1952, passed away peacefully, while vacationing in the Florida Keys.
Thomas was the beloved husband to Sue Limbach for 50 wonderful years. Loving Father to Timothy (Adelle) Limbach, Peter (Lauren) Limbach and Sarah (Wade) Bibler. Proud Papa to grandchildren Kaden, Ethan and Levi Bibler and Ashton Limbach.
Tom had a long and successful career at Terex Cranes, retiring in 2014, after 41.5 years of service. In his free time, he found joy in working with Friends of Pool 9, where he was a dedicated and passionate volunteer. He enjoyed helping clean up the Mighty Mississippi River, as well as educating children and adults about the river's ecosystem.
One could often find Tom out on the Mississippi River, having a good time, fishing or exploring with family and friends. Tom was a master mechanic, helping everyone fix things from a fly swatter to a racing car engine.
Tom will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humor, and his unwavering dedication to his family and community. Tom lived life to the fullest and he will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Celebration of Life services will be held June 14th, 2025, at 11:00 am at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, in Lansing, IA.
Memorials are not necessary but may be directed to family for later designation in Tom's name.

May God bless the Limbach Family. We are very sadden to hear of the loss of Tom. Tom and Sue, were very close friends when they lived in Milwaukee. Until they moved to Iowa. Tom and I Raced at Great Lakes Dragway for many years. He helped me designed my 1923 t roadster while I did all the welding, he helped solve any problems came that up. We worked on each other's Race cars at the track, and at home in our garage. I have some great memories of Tom. He will be missed.

Sue and Family,

I had the privilege of knowing Tom as both a colleague and a friend during my time at Terex and in the years that followed. He was a truly kind, dedicated, and selfless person who left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of working with him. His passing came as a shock, and he will be deeply missed. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for you and your entire family.

Tom's passion for Terex was unmatched-he was incredibly devoted to the company and took immense pride in its history. I have many fond memories of working with him, especially on the special projects we undertook together. One of his proudest achievements was the Terex history wall, which he was instrumental in creating. His knowledge and willingness to help were invaluable to so many.

Beyond work, Tom was a family man who cherished his time with loved ones. He found great joy in fishing and in his home in Lansing, near the water-a place that brought him peace. Even after his retirement, I always enjoyed our conversations, and I will truly miss his friendship.

Tom was one hell of a great man and an even greater friend. My deepest sympathies to you and your family during this difficult time.

With heartfelt condolences, Jeff

My deepest sympathies to Tom's family. We not only worked together we were friends who laughed together and even got some work done. I can't remember the number of times we went to work on cranes and excavators and enjoyed each others company. He will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate enough know him.
