GEORGE LEWIS Obituary

GEORGE RICHARD LEWIS 12/2/1945 to 4/28/2025 George Richard Lewis was called home to be with the Lord on Monday April 28, 2025 in Inglewood California. He was born December 2, 1945 in Waxahachie Texas. He was the beloved son of Allen and Juanita (Dixon) Lewis. He was kind, giving and a light in the lives of all who had the joy of knowing him. In 1964 he graduated from Turner High School in Waxahachie Texas. Then he served two years in the US Army (1967-1969). Afterwards he made his home in California. He was employed with the County of Los Angeles for two years, before employment with Western/Delta Airlines for over twenty-five years. He took photography classes at El Camino College in Torrance California. He loved celebrating life's moments through family gatherings. His passion for adventure and exploration took him to over 30 countries (Just to name a few: Spain, Russia, England, France, South Africa, Egypt, Australia, China, Japan and Vietnam). He also attended many of the Olympic Games. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother James Weldon Lewis and a sister Allie Marie Lacey. George is survived by a brother, Howard Lewis and sisters, Flora Coney, Josephine Lewis-Harris, CL Lewis, Debbie Lewis, nieces, nephews and cherished friends. George leaves behind a legacy of Love and Integrity A life well respected. Services were May 14th at Beyond the Sea Memorial Services in Long Beach California.
