MARSHA GRIPPE

MARSHA ANN (WEEMS) GRIPPE Marsha Ann (Weems) Grippe, 83, went home to be with the Lord on September 28, 2023, after a long battle with cancer and arthritis. She was born on January 28, 1940, to Marshall and Anita Weems in Corsicana, Texas. After graduating from Corsicana High School in 1958 she married Jerry Cox and had four children in Dallas. In 1991, she married Jim Grippe. During their marriage, they enjoyed traveling and lived in various states until his death in 2005, after which she moved back to Texas, settling in Waxahachie to be close to her family. She was a member of Farley Street/Pathway Baptist Church and enjoyed various activities with the seniors and reconnecting with her precious childhood friend, Betty Weatherford. Her survivors include her son, Randy Cox; son Andy Cox and wife Autumn; daughter Debbie Southard and husband Gil; brother and sister-in-law Chuck and Patsy Weems; and also by her grandchildren, Brittany and Bond Lohden, Dana and Ross Reamy, Jason Cox and Caleb Cox; two great-grandsons, Jameson and Bodhi Lohden, along with nieces and nephews. Marsha is preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her oldest son Bobby Cox; parents Marshall and Anita Weems; sisters Nancy Weems and Janie Posey. Visitation will be 12 -1 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Richard Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Cox, Caleb Cox, Bond Lohden, Ross Reamy, Roger DeMoss, Cody Molock. Honorary pallbearers will be Brittany Lohden and Dana Reamy.
