Alan R. Walker
December 12, 1936 - April 7, 2024
DENVER - Alan R. Walker, 87 of Denver, formerly of rural Waterloo, died Sunday April 7, 2024, at the Denver Sunset Home. He was born December 12, 1936, in Waterloo, son of C. Robert and Florence E. Dooley Walker.
As a young man, Alan chose Jesus as his friend and guide in life and remained committed to that choice, as well as taking an active part in his fellowship group.
He graduated from East High School in 1955 and began a lifelong career of farming, raising livestock and field crops. On August 1, 1956, he married Marilyn Klenk at the bride's parents' home near Chelsea.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn; three children: John and Ginna Walker of Waterloo, Mark and Karen Walker of Scottsdale, AZ, and Kristi and Bruce Bullick of Lubbock, TX; eight grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren including nieces, nephews, and several cousins.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Barbara (Henry) Eicher.
Memorial Services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave. Waterloo. Following the services, there will be a time of fellowship and a luncheon.
Family inurnment will precede services in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
The family suggests taking a friend or loved one to dinner as an alternative to flowers or memorials.
