Carol Ann (Quint) Weber
July 31, 1939 - November 16, 2024
Carol Ann (Quint) Weber, 85, of Waterloo, died Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Friendship Village.
Carol was born July 31, 1939, in Worthington, Iowa. She was the daughter of Edward and Lorene (Moorman) Quint, the fourth of six kids. She attended a one room country school, then graduated salutatorian of the class of 1957 at Aurora HS.
Carol worked as a secretary at DX SunRay until she married Jim Weber on August 2, 1958, and began raising her family of five in Gilbertville. Around 1974, they moved to Jim's families farm outside of Raymond, where Carol assisted Jim as needed in farming the land. When the kids starting leaving home she began her beloved career as a Waterloo rural route mail carrier until her retirement in 1999. She and Jim built their retirement home shortly after in Gilbertville, until they moved to assisted living in 2021.
Carol loved life and saw the joy in all God's creations, big and small in addition to her love of God, family, and friends. Her other loves were playing piano by ear, sewing (making most of her kid's clothes in the early years), reading and journaling, gardening and canning. She had a great love for all "critters". And was well known for her fabulous pies, cookies and cake decorating. She took great pride in this labor of love!
Carol is survived by her five children, Deb (Dennis) Deardorff, Sue (Anthony) Chara, and Tim (Sharon) Weber, all of Denver, Colo. Mary Kay Van Wey, of Dewar, and Terry (Kelly) Weber, of Independence; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; three siblings, Betsy (Gary) Sickels, of Oelwein, Lois (Jim) Vertz, of Cedar Rapids, and Glen (Judy) Quint, of Shellsburg.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents; two brothers, Jerome and Ronnie; and a granddaughter, Jessica Chara.
