Joyce Miller, 76, of Waverly, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Oak Park Estates in Cedar Falls.

Joyce was born on May 10, 1948, the daughter of Maurice and Helen (Till) Dooly. She attended Tripoli School, graduating in 1966. She married her high school sweetheart, Dennis Miller, on June 5, 1966, at St. John Lutheran Church in Western Douglas. Their loving union was blessed with two children, Tracy and Travis.

Joyce dedicated her working years to supporting others, whether in schools, healthcare, or the legal field. She served as a teacher's aide at Irving Elementary, a ward clerk at the Waverly Hospital, and worked at Lutheran Mutual in Waverly. For the last 30 years of her career, she was a legal secretary, first with Hageman, Goeke & Egli Law Office, and later with Steve Egli, before retiring in 2013.

A passionate collector, Joyce found joy in the little things, especially hearts, hummingbirds, butterflies, and her impressive collection of 587 Beanie Babies. She had a green thumb and loved gardening and tending to her flowers. Her adventurous spirit took her on three trips to Hawaii, numerous visits to Arizona, hikes and being near the ocean-places that gave her great peace and happiness. Her dogs, Cuddles, Precious and Izzy, were a source of great joy over the years.

Family was at the heart of everything Joyce did. She loved cooking and baking for her loved ones, sharing meals and laughter around the table, and spending time playing cards. She and Dennis also enjoyed many years of card games with friends and participated in a mixed bowling league. Joyce's sharp wit and playful sense of humor made her a joy to be around, she especially loved playing harmless pranks and making others smile.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Dennis; her children, Tracy (Tom) Nash of Tripoli and Travis (Jo) Miller of Nashua; seven grandchildren, Joey (Kathleen) Miller, Briana (Zach) Lamphere, Jordan (Liz) Nash, Jared (fiancé Hannah Bustamante) Nash, Alexis Miller, Kaden Miller and Sharice (Lucas) Bradey; and five great-grandchildren, Lincoln Miller, Finnley and Brooks Lamphere, and Ellis and Rowan Nash.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly. Memorial contributions may be directed to Cedar Bend Humane Society, UnityPoint Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be left at kaisercorson.com
