Rex Alan Fox

March 13, 1955 - February 16, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Rex Alan Fox of Waterloo Iowa. Rex passed away surrounded by family on February 16th, he was born on March 13, 1955, in Oelwein Iowa.

Rex married Sharon Begley in 1973. They raised their daughters in Waterloo and Dike. He was kind, a hard worker and loved his family. He worked for Hutting Sash and Door and as a semi-truck driver before retiring from Questliner in 2016. In his retirement, Rex loved to spend time with his family and listening to music. Most of all, Rex loved being a Grampy.

He is survived by his wife Sharon (Begley) Fox, and daughters Jessaca (Doug) Philips Aurora Colorado, Jenna (Adam) Diephouse of Cedar Falls Iowa, and Syilehst Fox of Waterloo, Ashley Walker and her children Aereon, Aryis, Adore, and Ahnesty Walker of Waterloo whom he was a father and grandfather figure to, brothers Kent Irwin and Dirk Fox, sisters Jamie Hawbaker and Sherry Kennedy, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Irene Fredrick, father Theodore Dean Fox, stepmother Maxine Fox, brothers Gary Fox, Delbert Fox, Larry Fox, Mike Irwin, and sister Vikki Bentley.

The family would like to thank the Mercy One ICU nursing staff and the employees at Wendy's on La Porte road for their kindness.

At his request, no service will be held. Memorials may be directed to The Huntington's Disease Society of America.
