Linda L. Hertig

1952 - 2024

Johnson Creek, WI - Linda Louise Hertig (nee Israelson), age 72, of Johnson Creek, Wisconsin, was born to eternal life on June 25th, 2024.

Linda was born June 14, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Evelyn and Harry Israelson, the oldest of 3 children. She studied nursing at Lutheran Hospital, Milwaukee and Marquette University, and selflessly cared for many patients over the course of her career.

On August 7, 1982, she was united in marriage to Ronald Keith Hertig. They were blessed with 3 daughters.

Linda had a strong Christian faith, which was expressed by a lifetime of service to others through a variety of organizations and countless individual acts of kindness and concern. She enjoyed playing clarinet, and was involved in numerous musical groups throughout her lifetime. She loved tending to her flowers and was always acquiring something new for her garden beds. Her love and appreciation for God's creation led to a pursuit of painting later in life, leaving a legacy of many fine artworks.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Evelyn and Harry Israelson; parents-in-law Joyce and Leroy Hertig; and brother, Kenneth Israelson.

She is survived by her husband Ronald, loving daughters Monica Hertig (Jon Solum), Claire Hertig and Robyn Hertig, sister Susan (Jake) Soergel, brother-in-law Michael (Deborah) Hertig, aunt Doris Desruisseaux, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. Justin Cloute and Rev. Anthony Schultz officiating. Relatives and friends may gather at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A meal will immediately follow the service in the lower level of the church. Interment will be at the Winter Cemetery, in Winter, WI on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Blue Butterfly Ministries. A note from her daughters:

Our mom was an extremely kind, caring and compassionate woman. She instilled in us the importance of always extending a helping hand to those in need. She taught us to value the simple things in life: a quick phone call to say hi, how flowers and chocolate can lift your spirits after a long day, and just letting us know she would be there whenever we needed her. She loved us unconditionally and was such a bright spirit. Her passing will leave an immense hole that will be impossible for the three of us to fill. Please remember our mom when you see the beauty of nature around you, just like she saw in all her paintings and artwork.
