JEAN RANDS
Jean Rands, a compassionate, loving, and thoughtful woman, passed away on October 1, 2025 in Wichita, KS at the age of 99. She was born on February 22, 1926 in Texarkana, TX to Marvin and Hettie (Kitchens) Warren. Jean was a dynamic woman who enjoyed a life filled with adventure and love. She was the co-owner of the Okmulgee Flying Service, a business she operated with her husband, Clifford Rands, whom she married on June 6, 1944. Jean's love for aviation extended beyond her work. She was an active participant in flying clubs where she raced airplanes in the Powderpuff Derby, the Skylady Derby, and the Dallas Doll Derby. Her adventurous spirit also led her and Clifford on numerous road trips to Mexico during the winters of their retirement.
Beyond her professional and adventurous accomplishments, Jean was a pillar of her community. She was an active member of the Wellington Senior Center and a devout member of her Sunday School class at the Methodist Church. Jean's love for her community was evident in her dedicated volunteer work at her church. She placed a great importance on family, often hosting dinners and gatherings. Jean was not a judgmental person, but rather one who gave her best effort in all she did, making her a cherished figure among her loved ones and community.
