Wade G. Cook

1946 - 2016

BELMONT - Wade G. Cook, of 5833 Lyons Road, passed away Saturday (Aug. 20, 2016) at the Wellsville Manor Care Center.

Wade was born Oct. 25, 1946, in Shinglehouse, Pa., and was a son of Glenn Arthur and Luella Lovine Fanton Cook. On Aug. 21, 1993, in Wellsville, he married his loving wife, Sharon E. Mason, who survives.

Wade graduated from Wellsville High School in 1965. He worked at Dresser Rand in Wellsville, first as a machinist for a short time, and then worked on the test stand and was also a balancer, before he retired in 2009 after 46 years. In addition to working at Dresser, Wade also owned and operated a farm in Belmont for most of his life. He enjoyed working the farm and especially working with the work horses, which he pulled with.

Along with his loving wife, Wade is survived by 3 children, Tonya L. (James) McKinley of Wellsville, Theresa L. (Brent) Golish of Wellsville, Wade A. (Lona) Cook of Andover; 4 stepchildren, Debra L. (David) Dean of Clay City, Kan., Katrina M. Smith of Belmont, Kurt A. Smith of Bliss, Jada L. Beardsley of Belfast; 14 grandchildren, Jimmy, Liam, Taylor, Patrick, Beth, Spencer, Landon, Mason, Daylene, Deanna, Dana, Daylia, Codie, Morgan, and Garrett; three great-grandchildren, Emma, Westin, and Griffin; 2 brothers, John (Linda) Cook of Wellsville, Karl (Tina) Cookof LeRoy; and several nieces and nephews.

Wade was predeceased by 1 stepson, Phillip A. Smith on May 10, 2015.

Friends will be received at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home, 296 N. Main Street, Wellsville, on Friday (Aug. 26, 2016) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev., Marc Chamberlain, Pastor of the Genesis Bible Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville.
