Daniel Purcell Obituary

Daniel Paul Purcell, 86, of Cashmere, Washington, passed away of natural causes on September 25, 2025, in Cashmere.
Born on September 17, 1939, in Leavenworth, Washington, Daniel was raised and educated in Cashmere. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1960. Upon returning home, he married Arline Cloke, and together they made their home in Cashmere, raising two children.
Daniel led a diverse and industrious life. He worked as an orchardist and farmer and spent 25 years with Alcoa before retiring. He also owned and operated a tavern in the community. One of his most memorable ventures was raising bison-an endeavor that drew the attention of both locals and tourists who would often stop to admire the animals along the roadside.
An avid outdoorsman, Daniel had a deep love for boating and fishing. He frequently sailed to Alaska and developed a special connection with Tenakee Springs, which became his cherished second home. His annual trips there were filled with meaningful moments shared with friends and family.
Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Arline; and his brothers Tom and Larry. He is survived by his children, Tracie McGuire and Eric Purcell; his sister Linda Jensen; his sister Marylynn Stafford; and his brother Steve Purcell.
Daniel will be remembered for the rich life he lived and the many lives he touched. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
