David Phillips Obituary

David Russell Phillips
October 1, 1945 - March 19, 2025
Known by all as Dave, was called home on March 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Cashmere, WA. Born on October 1, 1945, in Petaluma, CA, to Richard and Rosella Phillips. He was raised alongside siblings Bob, Jim, and Betty. Dave lived a life full of love, faith, and deep connections.
In 1965, he married the love of his life, Sharon Mitchell, and together they built a legacy of faith and family. In 1975, Dave and Sharon put down roots in North Central Washington, where they raised their three children: Mike (Kay), Pete (Gala), and Jenny (Gregg). Dave was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, his 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter all knew him as a loving presence who shaped their lives in countless ways. Dave was always a familiar face at sporting events and school activities, supporting his children and grandchildren at every opportunity. Over the years, Dave and Sharon spent countless days together traveling around the country seeing God's creation and making friends along the way.
Dave spent 26 years working in the tree fruit industry, forming lifelong friendships and making a lasting impact on the community. Later, he transitioned into excavation work, continuing to build relationships throughout the Wenatchee valley. His work was more than a job, it was a way to connect with people, develop meaningful relationships, and lead others to Christ. Anyone who knew Dave knows he would find a way to work in "Do you know my Jesus" to conversations with just about anyone he had the pleasure of meeting.
At the heart of everything Dave did was his unwavering faith in Christ. Saved at the young age of six, he lived his life with Christ at the center, guiding his marriage, his family, and his every interaction. As an active member, elder, and mentor at Mid Valley Baptist Church, he walked the walk, always leading by example. His wisdom, kindness, and faith touched many, and his legacy will continue to do so for generations to come.
Though Dave will be deeply missed, his family finds peace in knowing he is now in the presence of the Lord he faithfully served. They take comfort in knowing he is watching over them from heaven.
A celebration of Dave's life will be held Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 1:30 p.m., at Mid Valley Baptist Church, 8345 Stines Hill Rd., Dryden, WA.
