Harold Rash Obituary
Harold Wesley Rash
June 18, 1939 – August 30, 2024
Yuma, AZ
(formerly of Chelan, WA)
In loving memory of Harold Wesley Rash, who passed away in the arms of his wife, Sherrie, at their home in the Foothills of Yuma, AZ, on August 30, 2024. Harold, affectionately known as Lovey, Dad or Gramps to his wife, daughter, and grandchildren, graced this world on June 18, 1939, born in Seattle, WA, to Buell and Betty (Weedin) Rash.
As a young child, Harold and his family moved to Waterville, WA. He loved growing up in Waterville as the Deputy Sheriff's son and playing pranks on his little sister, Shirley. He was an avid storyteller and loved to tell (tall?) tales about his horse-riding escapades, being a proud member of the Waterville Wranglers, and waterskiing with his friends. He was also known to brag about graduating among the top 17 from the Waterville class of 1957.
On March 5, 1982, he married Sherrie Farmer who he adored, and they spent many years boating, fishing, and flying together. A few years before his retirement from Alcoa, where he worked for 30 years, he and Sherrie moved full time to their cabin at the Lake Chelan Yacht Club so they could spend more time doing the things they enjoyed. It was after his retirement that he began his weekly roadtrips with his motorcycle ""gang"" and his weekly ""guys only"" Coffee Klatch at the lake, where they would swap jokes and stories, and eat the desserts that Sherrie always sent along with him. It's up in the air as to whether they liked Harold's stories or Sherrie's desserts better. Both were pretty darn good and plentiful. Harold's daughter, Cordelle, and her family loved to visit them at the lake and hear all about the Ghost House, Hook, and what the best bait was to catch the best fish, and they eventually became club members adding to the LCYC legacy started by his father, Buell, and his uncle, Earl.
Harold leaves behind a loving family and is survived by his devoted wife, Sherrie; his daughter, Cordelle (Ray) LaRoche (from his first marriage to Peggy Paterson); and his grandchildren: Kelsey (Cyrus) Heick, and Nicholas (Katelyn) LaRoche; as well as two great-grandsons: Carson and Brooks Heick. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley (Kenny) Dewitz, and her children.
To honor Harold's memory, his family would like to invite all to a heartwarming Celebration of Life to be held in the spring of 2025 (exact time and place to be determined and announced at a later date). Though he may have departed from our earthly realm, Harold's spirit will forever resonate in the lives he touched, and he will be missed by all.
