Jackson Dunckel Obituary

Jackson Welch Dunckel
September 28, 2011 - July 8, 2025
It is with the heaviest of hearts that our family learned of the passing of Jackson Welch Dunckel on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 a month after his confirmation and affirmation of baptism celebration on the same day as his MiMi's birthday and prior to his beloved annual to the Harry Potter week at Camp Zanika on Lake Wenatchee with his brother Bennett. Jackson's confirmation was a proud family event and a testament to his kind and gentle heart and love, and delight in family, where he honored his Poppa's retirement and his desire to always "learn to do good and seek justice..."
Jackson was born on September 28th, 2011, in Wenatchee and attended St. Paul's Lutheran School, where, as a student, he excelled in reading, writing, and art among other subjects.
Jackson was a detail-oriented student and passionate about learning and sharing knowledge with others. Reading, writing, and creating intricate Lego and online video game worlds were areas of exceptional joy for him. Jackson competed in the first-ever Lego building competition for St. Paul's and earned an impressive second place alongside his classmate.
There was a unique sense of pride, joy, and accomplishment that could be felt and heard when talking with Jackson about his aquariums and shrimps, his gardening projects, both solo and as a member of the Graceful Garden team at church.
Jackson exuded compassion and care for others and concern for all he came into contact with.
He acted as a team captain during the Knowledge Bowl team and was noted by his teachers as working to ensure inclusion of all, discussion amongst team members, and for actively listening to all.
Jackson was always quick-witted and had a remarkable way with words and an insatiable thirst for knowledge. His reading accomplishments overwhelmed the school's award supply on many occasions!
Jackson was also an avid skier (water and snow) and Minecraft world creator, and enjoyed camping adventures to Montana with his aunt and uncle from Spokane, with whom he had a special relationship.
Jackson is survived by his mother, Molli (Wenatchee), younger brother Bennett (Wenatchee), grandparents Patrick and Jennifer McMahon (Wenatchee), and his Uncle T.J. (Bellevue), as well as countless aunts, uncles, and cousins between Seattle and Spokane and the Pacific N.W.
Jackson was welcomed to heaven by his father, Clinton, and Uncle Ryan McMahon, among other faithful departed members.
We will never forget the indelible impact Jackson has had on our lives and will cherish his laughter, smile, and love always. His smile and sparkle will remain as bright as his red locks of hair in our hearts, souls, and minds forever.
A celebration of the life of Jackson W. Dunckel is planned for Saturday, July 26th at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church in Wenatchee, WA.

I knew Jackson through my granddaughter Gia Nader. She always spoke of Jackson and the friendship they shared, especially at school. I was deeply saddened when I heard of his passing. May his precious, little soul rest in peace now. He will never be forgotten.
