Rena Faye White
1927 – 2024
We are saddened to announce the passing of our family matriarch Rena Faye White, but rejoice for a life well lived, and are thankful for the example for our family to live by. Rena Faye (Dillard) White, of Wenatchee, WA, was born on September 1, 1927 to Earsel Eldon Johnny and Ruth (Hicks) Dillard in Calico Rock, AR. She spent her childhood in Calico Rock where she helped raise her 3 siblings (Billy, Marie, and Dean) after her mother passed when she was only 13 years old.
At 16 years old, Rena Faye and her family relocated to Wenatchee, WA, where she lived the remainder of her life. This move lead her to meet the love of her life and husband, Jay. They were married for over 70 years until his death in 2016. Rena Faye met John Jay White in 1945, and they married on October 5, of that same year. They were blessed to have sons: Dennis (1946), and Terry (1951); and a daughter, Renae (1954). John and Rena filled their childhoods with great fun! Disneyland, camping at Wapato Point, family barbecues, holiday games, and birthday parties. When they were adults, John and Rena gave them more than they could have ever realized and made wonderful memories now left to cherish.
Rena Faye worked as a waitress at the Mandarin restaurant, and the Chieftain restaurant. She would often remember her time there and the people she met, and loved to reminisce with them about it. She retired in the late 1980's and John and Rena were able to enjoy a long and eventful retirement. The days were filled with extended RV trips across America - Branson, Nashville, Knoxville (for the fair), Kansas City, Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, L.A., Canada, and her most favorite, Arkansas. Winters were reserved time for the home in front of the fire and the great family meals of the holidays. Rena loved her family, dogs, and shopping.
Rena Faye, a humble woman who loved the Lord, was a past member of the Wenatchee First Assembly Church. On June 13, 2024, she joined the Lord; her parents: Johnny and Ruth; sons: Dennis and Terry; daughter-in-law, Theresa; infant grandson, Mark Andrew White; her siblings: Billy and Marie; nephew, Jomy; and her loving husband, Jay. Left to remember our amazing matriarch are her daughter, Renae (Scott) Shales; grandchildren: Brandy (Tobi) Valladolid, Jason (Brandi) White, Sarah (Ryan) Edwards, Rachel (Jordan) Miller, Kristi (Ryan) Hane; brother, Dean (Joyce) Dillard; several nieces and nephews, including special nieces: Linda (Gary) Conard, Judy Spence; and special great-nephew, Jerred Gardner; and several great-grandchildren, all of Wenatchee, WA.
Our family wishes to thank you for all your prayers, cards, calls, love, and great memories expressed for Rena Faye.
God bless Rena Faye White.
