Charlotte Moeller Obituary
Charlotte JoAn Moeller, age 89, of Joplin, Mo., entered into her heavenly home on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025.
Charlotte was born on Jan. 9, 1936, in Nevada, Mo., to Rev. Benjamin and Mable (Durbin) Clark. After graduating from Nevada High School, she attended Southwest Baptist College and obtained an associate degree in library science. While at SWBC she met Rev. Clifford Moeller and they were married on July 7, 1956 in Nevada. They had two daughters, Debbie and Melody. Together they were blessed with 36 years of marriage before his passing on Jan. 17, 1993.
Charlotte and Clifford spent a majority of their lives in ministry in the St. Louis area. Charlotte dedicated her adult life caring for her daughters and serving as a pastor's wife. She loved sharing her faith with everyone she met. She sang in the church choir. She found it most important to interact with friends and family.
Charlotte was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and went to as many games as possible with her family.
When Charlotte's health began to decline, she moved into the Communities of Wildwood Ranch Care facilities in Joplin to be closer to her daughter Debbie. She held the status as one of the first occupants of Wildwood with great pride. Charlotte volunteered as a grief counselor through a program called Grief Share. While at Wildwood, she helped serve with Three Rivers Hospice wherever she was needed.
Charlotte loved being a grandmother and a great-grandmother. Charlotte's legacy is one of love, laughter and a life lived in service to the Lord and others. Her memory will be held in the hearts of many; a reminder of the profound impact one person can have on the world through simple acts of kindness and unwavering faith.
In addition to her parents and husband, Charlotte was preceded in death by her many brothers and sisters and one son-in-law Rev. Paul Westbrook.
Charlotte is survived by her two daughters Debbie Leatherman and husband Steve of Joplin, and Melody Westbrook of Edwardsville, Ill.; five grandchildren Caleb Westbrook and wife Elena Westbrook-Montoya, Luke Westbrook and wife Lauren, Joshua Westbrook and wife Sarah, Daniel Leatherman and wife Jen, and Shayla Leatherman; and seven great-grandchildren Baker, Brodie, Evalynn, Ellie, Bennett, Ximena and Leo.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, at The Communities of Wildwood Ranch.
Cremation arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
