Marlene Perini Obituary

Marlene Linda Perini was born on June 20, 1931 in San Francisco, California, an only child living with her beloved Aunt Minnie and Uncle Jim. Six years later, she moved to South Dakota, and then to Oregon in the early 1940's, where she would later become a graduate of St. Mary's Academy in Portland, Oregon. She then traveled to Sacramento, California in 1955 where she was Secretary to the Director of the U.S.O for seven years. Married to the late Clifford Christopher "Fuzzy" Perini, she shared 33 years of love and total happiness with children Mary, Chris, Tony and Diane. She loved to travel the world and was a volunteer for 14 years at the Casa Garden Restaurant and the Sacramento Airport. Her passion was always cooking meals and baking for family, friends and neighbors, while her garden was her sanctuary, planting flowers everywhere. She loved reading, watching movies and PBS, music, visiting art museums, attending food and cultural fairs and festivals, staying up on current events, and all the family pets over the years.

Marlene is survived by her daughter Mary Gallagher and husband Tim, son Tony Perini and wife Mary Ann, daughter Diane Perini and her partner Neil Pineschi, grandchildren Lauren and Shannah Gallagher, and great-grandchildren Anashea, Adam, and Morgan.

With her family all in other cities that she missed so much, her last years were happy, spent at St. Joseph's Church in Clarksburg, driving down the river watching the land go by. Father Dan had given her the Catholic rites she longed for since 1949, and she will now rest in peace.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, March 4 at 11am at River Cities Funeral Chapel located at 910 Soule Street, West Sacramento, CA 95691. All friends and loved ones are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
