Betty Patch Obituary

Betty Ann Patch, age 92, of Berne, IN, and formerly of Geneva, passed away at Swiss Village in Berne on October 6th, 2025. She was born on Saturday, February 4, 1933, in Forrest, IN, Clinton County, to Vilas Wm. Wendel and Velda Lorene (Wyant) Wendel, who both preceded her in death. She married Francis R. "Frank" Patch on April 4, 1951, in Kingman, IN. He also preceded her in death. Betty was a 1951 graduate of Jefferson Township High School. She had been employed at Smith Brothers in Berne and at McDonald's in Berne. Betty was a member of High Street Church of Geneva. She enjoyed crocheting and working on her flower garden, and from time spent with her family. She will be missed by her children, Bill (Melissa) Patch of Findlay, OH, Randy (Goldie) Patch of Ansonia, OH, Tammy Teeple of Berne, Joe (Bonnie) Patch of Geneva, Patty (Rick) Newsome of Dunkirk, and John (Carolyn) Patch of Geneva; 12 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Vilas and Velda Wendel; her husband Francis "Frank" Patch; sons Stan Patch and Roger Patch; Daughter, Connie Sue Patch-Stanford, and brothers Bobby Wayne Wendel and Jack William Wendel, Son-in-law, Dave Teeple, and Granddaughter, Carrie Patch, and two grandsons. Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington Street, Geneva, on Monday, October 13th, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and for one hour prior to the service. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 14th, 2025, at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva, with Pastor Joe Lampton officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Geneva Preferred memorials may be made to: High Street Church or the Geneva Volunteer Fire Department.
