Cleo Landis Obituary

Cleo J. Landis, 91, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday August 12, 2025. Born on August 6, 1934, in Decatur, Indiana, he was a son of the late Samuel and Bertha (Fugate) Landis. Cleo attended Bellmont High School, Decatur, Indiana and graduated with the Class of 1953. On September 23, 1977, he married Linda L. Crowell. Cleo worked as a machinist for International Harvester, Fort Wayne and Kilgore Manufacturing, Columbia City. He was a member of Oak Grove Church of God. Cleo enjoyed fishing in his free time. Cleo and Linda loved to travel the United States. They were also winter visitors in Texas returning to Indiana for the summers. Survivors include his children, Lorie (Michael) Ferguson, Michael Landis, and Shelly (Matt) Metzger; grandchildren, Adrienne (Evan) Long, Emilie Ferguson, Jaima (Dakota) Keefe, Dylan Landis, Devin Landis, Dominic Landis, Hunter Metzger, and Megan Metzger; great-grandchildren, Ryenne, Raegan, Breylan, and one on the way. Along with his parents, Cleo is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Landis; son, Tracy Landis; and siblings. Funeral services for Cleo will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 15, 2025, at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with calling two hours prior to service. Burial in Oak Grove Compton Cemetery, Columbia City. Memorial contributions in memory of Cleo may be made to Cancer services of Northeast Indiana.
