Elaine Bice Obituary

Elaine Joan Bice was born on August 21, 1934, in Auburn to the late Artie and Gladys (Carper) Warstler. On Wednesday July 23, 2025, Elaine passed away peacefully at Auburn Village Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing. Elaine married James Bice on June 26, 1954. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2014. She is survived by their son and daughter-in-law Randy and Dusti Bice and grandson Collin (Lexi) and great grandchildren Lainey and Cash, grandson Hayden Bice, daughter-in-law Marvic Bice and granddaughter Josie Bice, caregiver/friend John Farrington, honorary grandchildren Lynne Smith and Brice Schlosser, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and their son Larry Bice on July 4, 2013. Brothers Wayne Warstler, Blaine Warstler, Don Warstler, Wesley Warstler and Sonny Warstler who died at infancy. Also, sisters June Bassett and Ruth Collins. Elaine loved country music. She started singing and playing guitar when she was very young with her parents, brothers and sister (The Singing Warstlers) they were the opening act at Buck Lake Ranch for the big stars that would come up from Nashville TN on the weekends. Elaine and James met while working the summer at Messenger Corp. She also worked at the Auburn Rubber Company for a number of years in the paint and packing Dept. After becoming a stay-at-home mother and raising their two boys she became a babysitter for over 33 years taking care and helping to raise over 300 children before retiring in 2011. Elaine was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend that will be deeply missed. Viewing is Saturday July 26, 2025 from 2 to 6 PM at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN. Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, July 27, 2025 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Collin Bice, Hayden Bice, Nicholas Gitary, Brice Schlosser, John Farrington and Denny Winebrenner. In lieu of flowers/gifts, please donate loving memorials to the Heimach Center.
