It is with sincere sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Elizabeth J. Baddour, 56, who departed peacefully on May 30, 2025 in the presence of her family. Elizabeth was born into a loving home on December 21, 1968 in Mansfield, Ohio. Lazlooza, as her brothers would call her, brought a spirit of joy and energy wherever she was and was always quick to smile and laugh. Since her adolescence, Elizabeth loved playing the piano, often performing for family and members of the church. One of Elizabeth's passions was cultivating a garden that thrived with flowers and was filled with the melody of birds.
Throughout her life, Elizabeth achieved excellence in academics, graduating with honors from Capital University with a degree in nursing. She then returned to earn her master's degree as a nurse practitioner and worked for Heartland Health. During the course of her career, Elizabeth cared for thousands of patients and taught lectures to nursing students at the University of Saint Francis. She was an avid skier, piano player, singer, and soccer player. She had a great appreciation for beautiful paintings and was herself an accomplished artist.
For everyone that met Elizabeth, it was clear that her true passion and focus was following Jesus Christ. This was reflected in the care, love, and devotion she gave to everyone she knew. She always encouraged her sons to walk in wisdom and truth, reflected in the words of Saint Paul, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7-8). These words were shown in her own testimony, by word and deed.
She is survived by her three sons: Joseph Andrew Israbian, David Michael Israbian, and Michael Luke Israbian, as well as her brothers Raymond J. Baddour and Dr. Christian J. Baddour (Rhonda), her nieces Julia Carney (Kyle), Rachel Baddour, Skylar Baddour, Ciara Baddour, and Alexa Baddour, her nephew Christopher Baddour, and numerous loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Blanch Baddour, and her brother David Baddour.
Elizabeth was an incredible woman who faced the challenges of life with poise and the dedication of a saintly woman. Elizabeth would offer all to God, finding peace in his creations. When she sat in her garden, birds would alight close to her; she would sing to them, and they would sing in return. Squirrels would feed from her hand. Elizabeth would lovingly call these animals her "furry critter friends of the woods" and it brought her so much joy to sit in the beauty of nature that God created. She saw challenging situations in life as opportunities to grow closer to God. Our mom was an inspiration, both as a person, and as a testament for what it meant to truly follow Jesus Christ.
Elizabeth was a devoted mother, mentor, and protector whose faith in Jesus Christ gave her the strength to stand courageously, always offering a gentle smile and gracious heart to all with whom she interacted. Elizabeth lived a life allowing God to shine His love through her, so as to overflow that love onto everyone she came in contact with. Throughout the waves of life's journey, Elizabeth used every challenge in life to grow in her faith and encouraged others to trust in the Lord and rely on Him for strength. Elizabeth prayed for family, friends, and the world unceasingly her entire life, always giving thanks in all circumstances. This was reflected in one of her favorite verses, 1 Thessalonians 5:18. She approached every conversation with sincerity and grace, while offering a helping hand to anyone in need.
