Keith Jackson Obituary

Keith A. Jackson, 82 of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Friday, August 15th, 2025 after struggling with Alzheimer's. He was born on November 7th, 1942 in Allen County. Keith graduated from Huntertown High School in 1961. He served in the Vietnam War as an F-105 Crew Chief with the Air Force. Keith was a dedicated and detail-oriented Road Test Mechanic at Navistar/International for 30 years. He married Phyllis A. Sherlock on April 29, 1978 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Survived by his wife of 47 years Phyllis, son Douglas (Sally) Jackson and daughter Andrea (Justin) Wolfe, and 5 grandchildren Tony, Adeline, Emma, Clayton, and Jackson. Also survived by his sisters Kay Altekruse and Elizabeth 'Tootie' (Steve) Scarlett. He is preceded in death by his parents Luther and Erna Jackson and his big brother Larry Jackson. Keith was a man of few words but when you heard him say 'To make a long story short' you knew it wasn't going to be a short story. He enjoyed and took pride in working hard for his family, making sure his mowing lines were straight, and that the grass was green. Keith could be found in the garage on Sundays listening to the NASCAR race on the radio and working on a project. He loved being around family and especially loved watching his grandchildren play. Family and friends will gather from 4-8:00pm on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home-Cedar Canyons, 1986 W. Cedar Canyons Rd., Huntertown, IN 46748, where a rosary will be prayed at 3:30pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46825, with a one hour prior visitation. Niche Placement will take place at a later date at Saint Vincent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mathew 25 Health and Care Clinic in Fort Wayne, IN. Online condolences may be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com.
