Barbara L. Mascaro

Barbara L. (Carfagno) Mascaro, 82, of Norristown, PA, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, at Frederick Living in Zieglerville, PA. Born in Bridgeport, PA, on January 14, 1943, Barbara was the daughter of the late Francis and Louise (Mazzeo) Carfagno. Barbara graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School in 1960 and dedicated 41 years as a secretary for the Norristown Area School District before retiring in 2015. In her free time, she was an avid reader who could always be found with a book in hand, getting lost in the latest bestsellers. She enjoyed spending cozy afternoons watching the Hallmark Channel, effortlessly solving crossword puzzles and Sudoku, and cheering on her beloved Philadelphia sports teams. She also had a keen eye for shopping and took great joy in finding treasures on QVC, always ensuring her family and friends were treated to thoughtful gifts. Above all, Barbara treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson. She loved celebrating the holidays-Christmas in particular-creating countless special memories. Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister whose warmth and love will be deeply missed. Barbara is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Gina Shaw, Carole (Irvin) Sanders, and Lisa (John) Livezey; her grandchildren, Steven, Kaitlyn, Devon, Quinn, Chadd, Kira, and Ashley; her great-grandson, Ian; and her sister, Teresa (Thomas) DiSanto. In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her son-in-law, Steve Shaw. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on March 29, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. In honor of Barbara's memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
