Barbara Shuker Obituary

Barbara Ann Shuker, 65, of Reading, passed away Wednesday, October 1st, at St. Joseph Medical Center. Barbara was born in Reading on August 23, 1960, a daughter of the late Betty M. (Wealand) and James J. Otto and was the widow of Michael J. Shuker, who passed in 2024. She was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church, Reading and former member of Hope Lutheran Church, Reading. She was a 1979 graduate of Reading High School and worked as an Optometrist at Pearl Vision Center for 38 years, retiring in 2025. She was a volunteer for Relay For Life. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Rebecca, wife of Justin Salerno, of West Reading; son, Adam Shuker, of Reading; sister, Joanne, wife of John Lucas, of Mohnton; brother, James Wealand and aunt, June Hawkins, of Virginia. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Gemma Shuker, Jacob Lopez, Luca, Caleb, Ashlin and Simon Salerno. She was predeceased by her brother, Gary Otto. Viewing will be Wednesday, October 8th from 5 PM to 7 PM at Feeney Funeral Home in Reading. Religious service will follow at 7 PM. Interment is private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 527 Washington St., Reading, PA 19601 or Hope Lutheran Church, 601 N. front St., Reading, PA 19601 Arrangements entrusted to John P.
