Barbara Silock Obituary
Barbara A. Silock age 89 of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday August 10, 2025. She was the widow of Andrew R. Silock who died in 2001. Born in Shamokin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Josephine (Dominianni) Fiorenza from Italy.
Barbara moved to the Stroudsburg area in 1964 and resided here all of her life. In her early years she was employed as a secretary for the State Capital, and also worked at Best Supply Co and Lavender and Lace Co. both of Stroudsburg for several years.
Barbara was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church of Stroudsburg where she was a cantor and sang at the funeral liturgy for funeral masses for many years. Barbara was also a very active, working St. Luke's Festival for many years in the flea market department. Barbara also served as the secretary of the Pocono Mountains Penn State Club for many years. She loved following football and baseball and very proud of her children and especially her grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by four children: Andrea Workman and her husband, Isaiah, of Allentown, PA; Lisa Silock of Clearwater, FL, Stephanie Motz and her husband, Leon, of Stroudsburg, PA; Drew A. Silock of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren: Mia Workman, Alaura Ennis, Xavier Workman , Selena Stuttle , Talia Silk , Andrew Schneider and Taylor Silock ; five great -grandchildren: Audrina, Linden, Katalina, Isme and Eloise. Barbara was preceded in death by a son: Kevin P. Silock and her siblings: Gilda Fiorenza , Nickolene ( Knovich), Theresa (Eimer), Annette (Anskis), Jeanette (Ospina), Loretta (Persing), Anthony Fiorenza.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday August 14, 2025, at 12:30pm at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 818 Main St. Stroudsburg, PA. with Fr. Michael Quinnan as celebrant. Burial will be on Friday August 15, 2025, at 11:30am at St. Edwards Cemetery Shamokin, PA. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 10-12:00noon at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th. St. Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Memorial donations can be made to St. Luke's Church 818 Main St. Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
