Barry Hausman Obituary

Barry A. Hausman, 74, of Walnutport, PA, died Sunday, August 3, 2025, at St. Luke's Bethlehem, surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was the husband of Phyllis A. (Vasilik) Hausman. The couple would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in November. Born in Allentown on May 22, 1951, Barry, affectionately known as Pete, Petey, or Peter, to those closest to him, was the son of the late Francis P. and Verna C. (Haydt) Hausman. Barry was a proud 1969 graduate of Whitehall High School. After graduation, he went to IBM computer school while working various jobs. After completing computer school, Barry decided to pursue his found passion in construction. He became a self-employed contractor of Barry A. Hausman Roofing & Siding for 40 years before a back injury led to his retirement in 2012. Barry was a past member of the former Blue Ridge Country Club, a lifetime member of the West Coplay Maennerchor, and a current member of the Diamond Fire Company Social Club. Besides working, Barry enjoyed his hobbies of model trains, bowling, horseshoes, golf, and camping. He was most passionate about spending time with his family and friends. His zest for life was contagious when going on vacation or cooking for those he loved. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Barry Jr. and his companion, Andrea Hoffman of Slatington, Holly F. Hausman Sell and her husband, Robert P. of Palmerton, Kelly M. Deibert and her husband, Erick of Danielsville; sisters, Donna Campbell of Northampton, Sharon Mohl of Millerstown; grandchildren, Barry III, Austin, Noah, Avery, Hunter, Sadie; many nieces and nephews; predeceased by siblings, Leonard, Jean, Gloria, Donald, Shirley, Charles, Clark, Bonnie, and Rose. Barry was eternally grateful for the extra time he was given due to the generous gift of life he received through organ donation. It was his wish to continue to spread that message. Please consider being an organ donor. Services: Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 12:30 PM at NOVA (Northern Valley EMS), 2375 Levans Road, Coplay, PA 18037. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com. Barry and I we´re close friends in Coplay and in high school. I can go into details, but I´ll save it for the memorial service when I meet his family. I hope Phyllis remembers me. Eric Hantz

Barry could always bring a smile to anyone he was around. I’ll always remember how easy he made playing horseshoes look! He will be missed at the campground. My condolences to Phyllis and Barry Jr.
