Betsey Steffenino Obituary

Betsey June (Quarles) Steffenino, 69, peacefully passed away on August 12, 2025, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the devoted wife of Christopher Steffenino, with whom she celebrated 40 years of marriage on May 18, 2025. Born in Chestnut Hill, PA, on June 25, 1956, Betsey was the daughter of the late Charles and Bette (Jacobs) Quarles. Betsey graduated from Abington High School in 1975 and went on to earn her Associate Degree in Nursing from Reading Area Community College. She worked as a registered nurse at Pottstown Hospital for 15 years before embracing her true calling at Caring Hospice, where she devoted herself to supporting families with compassion and grace during life's most tender moments. Nursing was more than a career for Betsey-it was a gift she shared generously. Outside of her work, Betsey had many passions. She loved gardening and spending time outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of nature. She enjoyed traveling and taking cruises, and especially treasured time at her favorite beaches in Myrtle Beach and Ocean City, NJ. Shopping trips to T.J. Maxx and Target always brightened her day, as did relaxing with her Kindle and a good book. She always kept her hair and makeup done and took pride in caring for herself. Betsey had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcome. She opened her home and her heart freely, becoming a "second mother" to many. Above all, she loved her family. She cherished raising her four daughters, traveling to see them, and spending time with her grandchildren, who lovingly called her Mimi. Her life came full circle as a grandmother, pouring the same love, care, and devotion into them that she had given to her own children. Even in her illness, she always met the words "I love you" with warmth and affection. Betsey is lovingly remembered by her husband, Chris Steffenino; her daughters, Melissa (Tyler) Roy, Rebecca (Gary) Dominguez, Hannah (Kyle) Neville, and Madison Rose Steffenino; her grandchildren, Emma Rose, Brooks, and Tanner; her sisters, Ellen Sand and Marcia Quarles; and her mother- and father-in-law, Richard and Maxine Steffenino. She is also survived by her beloved lab mixes, Dunkin and Donut. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration honoring Betsey's beautiful life will follow at 6:00 p.m. For those unable to attend in person, a live webcast of Betsey's services will be available beginning at 6:00 p.m. Please click here to view the webcast. If you have any questions, please call (610) 323-8220. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Betsey's memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, an organization close to her heart.

Yesterday

To all,
Working with Betsey at BAYADA Hospice was such a pleasure. She came to the office always smiling with lots of carbohydrates (especially McDs French fries), always willing to learn and help patients, families and colleagues in any way she could.
For all of her family. She spoke of you with great pride and so much love. May memories become so sweet for each of you. She left her imprint on many hearts.
There was only one Betsey!
Deepest sympathy
