Betty Rasmussen

Elizabeth "Betty" A. Rasmussen age 87 of Lake Harmony formerly of Albrightsville passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Mountain Top Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Mountain Top. Betty was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 18, 1937, daughter of the late Harold E. and Mary (McKearney) Olafson. She was the loving wife of the late Einar "Tony" E. Rasmussen who preceded her in death on November 19, 1997. She graduated from Our Lady of Angels High School in Brooklyn, NY. Betty had worked as an Office Manager for Pocono International Raceway in Long Pond for many years until retiring on March 13, 2003. Betty was instrumental in the construction of the new Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Company # 2 in Albrightsville. She was a member of the Carbon County Fire Police Association and served as Chief of Fire Police in Penn # 2 in Albrightsville. She also served as the Treasurer of the Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Company # 2 in Albrightsville. Betty was active in organizing fund raisers for the fire company. We have been blessed with the presence of Betty in our lives. She will be deeply missed by her children: Keith Rasmussen of Albrightsville, Kim Ginopolas and spouse Peter of Lake Harmony and Kurt Rasmussen of Albrightsville. She was the loving grandmother to: Hunter Rasmussen of Albrightsville, Kiara Ginopolas of Lake Harmony and Gabriella Rasmussen of Westford MA. In addition to her husband Tony, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Kerianna Ginopolas and a brother: Harold Olafson. Funeral services will be held 11 am, Friday, May 16, 2025, at Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, inc., 1426 Route 209, Gilbert, PA. Family and friends are welcome to offer condolences on Friday, May 16th from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. Betty will be laid to rest next to her loving husband Tony at the Buena Vista Cemetery in Brodheadsville.
