Caroline F. Eichner

Caroline F. Eichner, 92, of Allentown, formerly of Leesport, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. Her husband, Rev. David N. Eichner, passed away on July 24, 2000. Born in Jeffersonville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Fred C., PhD and Elsa (Severin) Foerster. She was a graduate of West Chester State Teacher's College and a member of P.E.O. Sorority. Caroline was a teacher for most of her life, having the opportunity to work as an International School Teacher in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand where the family worked as Lutheran missionaries for 23 years. Upon returning to the U.S. she taught in the Wilson School District in Berks County for several years until retiring in 2000. She was a devoted member of Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leesport where her husband David was Pastor Emeritus. She did volunteer work at Luther Crest taking on various duties and was always active within the community. Survivors: Sons, Mark Eichner (Cathy Prior) and David Eichner (Angie Trail); Sister-in-Law, Mimi Foerster; Niece Lisa Beth Keller (Robert) and Grandchildren, Marcy Jackson (Daniel) and Nathan Eichner (Caroline Korz). She was preceded in death by Siblings, Rev. Fred Foerster and Frederica Foerster. Services: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Bern Ev. Lutheran Church, 820 W. Leesport Road, Leesport, PA, 19533. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, in the church. Interment in Bern Union Cemetery, Leesport. An additional Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Crest Hall in Luther Crest, 800 Hausman Road, Allentown, PA 18104.
