Deborah Roe Obituary

Deborah L. "Deb" Roe, 70, of Easton, PA, passed away Friday, March 14th, at St. Luke's Hospital-Easton Campus. Deb was born in Scranton, PA on May 28, 1954, a daughter of the late Walter E. and Lucille J. (Gayzik) Surmaitis. She was a 1972 graduate of Warren Hills High School and a 1974 graduate of Centenary College for Women. For 21 years Deb was employed as a Dental Assistant at Dr. Goodkin and Pilek Family Dentistry in Long Valley, NJ. Deborah was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She and her husband, John Cullen, celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary. Along with her husband, Deb is survived by her two children, Christopher B. Roe and Courtney E. Kemmerer of Easton. She also has two grandchildren, Eleanor E. Kemmerer and Richard J. Kemmerer, and a sister, Beverly Surmaitis. Her love of animals was tremendous. Cape May was one of her favorite places to be. Deb's smile and laugh could light a whole room and that is how we will always remember her. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 22nd at St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church, 6658 School St., Martins Creek, PA. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Gathering from 10 to 11 AM on Saturday, March 22nd at James J. Palmeri Funeral Home, 6602 Alpha Ave., Martins Creek, PA. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any animal shelter in the Lehigh Valley. John, Courtney and Christopher, I am so very sorry to hear of Deb´s passing. She was a wonderful neighbor and friend when I lived next door to you in Forks. I always enjoyed chatting at the fence post. She had an infectious laugh and a kind heart. Above all else she loved her family so much. God speed Deb. Very fondly, JoAnn
