Diane Aldrete Obituary
Diane L. (Mullineaux) Aldrete of Conshohocken, PA passed away on January 1, 2025, at the age of 62. Born in Meadowbrook, PA, she was the daughter of the late William T. Mullineaux, Jr. and Justine C. (Concannon) Mullineaux. She was also the beloved wife of Richard Aldrete.
Diane lived as a child in Northeast Philadelphia before moving to Damian Drive in Hatboro, PA at the age of four. Diane thrived on Damian Drive playing with many friends who lived in the neighborhood and using her outstanding athletic ability. Diane loved the annual Damian Drive block party, including the social events and sports competition. One year at the block party, Diane's softball team won 8-6 with Diane knocking in seven runs with two doubles and a home run. As a child Diane would organize and produce plays put on by her young friends in the neighborhood. The plays were either in the backyard or the garage, where the neighborhood parents would attend. Diane was considered an accomplished artist.
Diane enjoyed the beach and boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ, where her grandparents owned a house. She also enjoyed staying with her other grandparents in Green Creek, NJ, where the kids played in the woods and picked a lot of wild blackberries. They also traveled to the beach and boardwalk in Cape May, NJ and Wildwood, NJ. At the beach Diane loved swimming in the ocean and usually went out the deepest of any swimmer- to her parents' dismay at times.
During high school and college, she spent summers living and working in Ocean City. There she met many lifelong friends. Often Diane had lunches at Ready's in Ocean City with her grandparents who traveled by bus from Green Creek. Her grandparents loved those priceless lunches with their young granddaughter. Diane was also a pitcher for Upper Moreland High School varsity softball team and teamed with Chris Mitchell in doubles on the varsity tennis team. Diane attended and graduated from Becker Junior College in Massachusetts and East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania earning a BA in Recreation at ESU. She was a member of the ASA sorority. After graduating from college Diane worked at a photography business owned by her parents and at a Pre-K school in Society Hill. Later, Diane was a businesswoman in different types of firms including a successful career as a recruiter for the tech industry. She eventually coached at Girard College working as an assistant coach to her husband, Rich. She would drive the young men in a 12-passenger van to their matches developing great coaching and mentoring relationships with the players. During the summer she worked as a camp director at the Tennis Farm at Springside School in Chestnut Hill.
Christine or "Chrissy", Diane's older sister, passed away in 2014. She lost her mom, Bonnie, in 2015 and her dad, Bill Mullineaux, in 2019. Diane spent time caregiving for the family during these times while being accompanied by Sam, her troubled emotional dog, who was a stray from an inner-city school.
Living in Conshohocken Diane served on the board of an HOA in a small community while completing her course work in counseling psychology at Chestnut Hill College. She started her internship last fall but had to resign due to illness.
In addition to her husband, Rich, she is survived by her brothers, David Mullineaux and Mark Mullineaux, his wife, Denise, and many loving nieces and nephews.
