Donald L. Latshaw, 71, of Lehigh Township, quietly passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice in Allentown. He was the husband of Judy A. (Hermony) Latshaw with whom he shared nearly 53 years of marriage.
Born at home in Lehigh Township, Donald was a son of the late Homer A. Sr. and Minerva A. "Minnie" (Hess) Latshaw. He graduated from Northampton High School in 1970 and was employed as a heavy equipment operator and paving specialist at Livengood Excavators Inc. for 28 years. He later owned and successfully operated Latshaw Excavating for more than 20 years, which was based in Lehigh Township. In his spare time, Donald loved to drive his golf cart around the property and enjoyed spending time with his pet dalmatian, Riley, who was always following closely behind.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Judy, he will be dearly missed by his daughter, Jennifer L. Varilek and husband, Kevin, of Allen Township; a granddaughter, Moeneeka Varilek; three brothers, Todd Latshaw of Walnutport, Alvin Latshaw of Northampton, and Harold Latshaw of Little Gap; a sister, Marjorie Weiss of Lehigh Furnace; nieces and nephews.
Donald was predeceased by a grandson, Zavier Corbit Varilek; a brother, Homer A. Latshaw, Jr.; and a niece, Susan White.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown - Bath, PA 18014. Friends and Relatives are invited to call on Friday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Danielsville Cemetery, Danielsville. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to Lehigh Valley Hospice, 2024 Lehigh Street, Allentown, PA 18103.
