Edward Hanna Obituary

Edward Scott Hanna, 66, entered into eternal rest on September 6, 2025, at the Lehigh Valley Hospice House in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, with his devoted mother by his side.

Born on April 21, 1959, in North Tarrytown, New York, Scott was a longtime resident of Bushkill, Pennsylvania.

Scott found great fulfillment in his work. As the owner and operator of a comprehensive lawn maintenance service, he approached each task with steady perseverance and conscientious care. Inspired by his love for the outdoors and guided by a strong work ethic, he leaves behind a legacy of principle, diligence, and valued connections with those he served and held in high regard.

At the heart of his life were his beloved dogs, Holly, Lake, and Brownie. Their companionship brought him immeasurable joy and filled his days with love, warmth and comfort. The bond they shared was a constant source of happiness and a reflection of his gentle and caring nature.

Though he valued privacy, Scott’s life was meaningful and marked by lasting connections with family, friends and neighbors. The beloved memories and treasured experiences he shared remain as a timeless tribute to his life.

While his absence brings sorrow and his passing is grieved with heavy hearts, his loved ones hold comfort in knowing that he has been released from the weight of illness and now rests in peace.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Edward A. Hanna. He is survived by his mother, Constance (Schumm) Hanna; his brothers, Philip Shawn Hanna (Susan), Cameron Stacy Hanna (Helene), and Patrick Bradley Hanna (Krista); two nephews, four nieces, three great-nephews, three great-nieces, and his furry felines, CeCe and Dee.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the Church of Saint John, 5171 Milford Road, East Stroudsburg, with Father Gregory A. Reichlen as celebrant.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Scott’s name to the Lehigh Valley Hospice House, 502 VNA Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
