Elfriede Bellis Obituary

Elfriede "Elli" Koczot Bellis, 94, of Stroudsburg, PA passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. She was the wife of Jack Bellis with whom she had celebrated 37 years of marriage, and she was preceded in death by her first husband Walter Koczot. Born in Ulm, Germany she was the daughter of Gustov and Anne (Merkel) Kubler. Elfriede was a lifelong resident of the Stroudsburg area moving here in 1947. In her early years, she worked at the former Wyckoff's Department Store and the Women's shop of Stroudsburg and later as a sales clerk at the CVS of Stroudsburg for several years. She also was a gray lady at the former Pocono Medical Center for many years. In addition to her husband Jack, she is survived by a daughter Ilona A. Hutta and her husband Bernard, stepson Rick Bellis of Roseto, Pa. stepdaughter, Donna Brockman and her husband Bruce of Harrisburg, Pa., 8 grandchildren: Ryan, Brad, Nicolas, Tyler, Phillip, Kimberly, Marlena and Jacqueline, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Elfriede was preceded in death by 2 sons: Bruce Koczot and David Koczot. Funeral services will be held on Monday June 2, 2025, at 12:00noon at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th. St. Stroudsburg, Pa. 18360. Burial will follow in the Stroudsburg Cemetery.
