Elizabeth W. Landes, 87, of Schwenksville, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025. Born January 19, 1938, in Schwenksville, she was the daughter of the late Jonathan and Sallie Landes. Elizabeth worked 35 years as an LPN at Sacred Heart Hospital in Norristown. She also worked four years at Meadowood Nursing Home. She found joy in exercising and walking in the pool at the YMCA, baking treats for her loved ones, and solving puzzles. Elizabeth spent many years teaching Sunday School classes at Norristown New Life Mennonite Church. She is survived by her son, Nathan Landes, her four grandchildren-Reese, Brody, Dru, and Austin-and her sisters, Irene Hunsberger, Doris Hunsberger, Edith Landes, Ethel Pennington, Paulette Moyer, and Rachel Frey. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her siblings, Miriam, Grace, Robert, Ella, Sarah Ann, Jacob, William, Jonathan Jr, and Philip. A funeral service to celebrate Elizabeth's life will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 3, at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, 18969. A viewing will be held prior to the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Wellspring Church Cemetery, Skippack. TO THOSE I LOVE When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You must not tie yourself to me with tears, Be thankful for our beautiful years. I gave you my love, you can only guess, How much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, But now it's time I travel alone. So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must, Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for a time that we must part, So bless the memories within your heart. I won't be far away, for life goes on And if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near, And if you listen with your heart, you will hear All my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and say "Welcome Home".

We at Nueva Vida Norristown New Life are grateful for our sister Betty and her example of how to live a life committed to following Jesus. She was a key part of the children's ministries at First Mennonite, Bethel Mennonite, and NVNNL. She taught in our Sunday school and Bible school ministries. Every Sunday, the children would flock to her pew to join her for worship, Cheerios, and quiet toys to play with. Her spiritual gifts were teaching and giving.
