It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend,
Enrique “Rick” Diaz, 78. He passed away early Friday morning, July 4, 2025 surrounded by his family in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
Born on July 30, 1946 in Santurce, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Enrique Diaz and Lydia (Santiago) Diaz.
He served in the United States Navy and worked for New York City Transit Authority for 38 years and retired as chief electrical engineer.
Those close to him will fondly remember him as a craftsman who enjoyed spending time in his workshop, keeping up with the latest in engineering and technology and sharing his insights with those he loved. He also enjoyed history, mathematics, reading, and watching old time western and war movies.
Rick will be deeply missed by his loving children, his daughter, Erica and her husband Christopher, his son, Rick and his wife, Vanessa, his sisters, Sonia and Noemi Diaz, his granddaughter, Stephanie, great-grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews.
Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will live on in our hearts and memories. Thank you, Rick for your strength, and your unconditional love.
