Obituary of George Roy Mascio George L. Mascio In Loving Memory of George L. Mascio George L. Mascio, 67, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025 in Altoona, PA after a valiant battle against lymphoma. He was the loving husband of Connie Bearer Mascio. Born on October 19, 1957 in Conshohocken, PA "Roy" as everyone called him, lived a life rich with love, laughter, and joy. After graduating from St. Francis University in Loretto, PA, Roy went on to pursue a Pharmacy degree at Temple University, in Philadelphia, PA. Roy was dedicated to his craft and achieved his dream of owning his own pharmacies in his hometown. Roy practiced his vocation with the utmost care and empathy, touching countless lives and made a lasting impact on those who sought his help. A man of simple pleasures, Roy found joy in the music of Jimmy Buffett, often playing his favorite songs during family gatherings and getting lost in the rhythms of island life…and eating a cheeseburger, of course! His laid-back nature and sense of humor made him a joy to be around, and his stories and laughter will echo in the hearts of all who knew him. Roy's laughter was contagious, filling every room with light, and his smile had a way of comforting everyone around him. Everyone knew Roy's love for Christmas was undeniable. He truly embodied the warmth, kindness, and joy of Christmas year-round. Roy's three children, their spouses, and his grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy, and he was a constant source of love and guidance for his family. His love for his family was unwavering, and his presence will be profoundly missed. They will forever cherish the memories of his love, laughter, and enduring spirit. Roy was preceded in death by His father William Mascio; mother Joanne Mascio; sister Bonnie Mascio; brother Jack Mascio; brother Joseph Mascio; brother Charles Mascio. He is survived by his wife Connie Bearer Mascio; along with his three children – Ryan Mascio and spouse Heather; Emily Kern and spouse Jonathan; Noah Mascio and spouse Kimberly. His two step-daughters – Ashleigh Williamson and spouse Jason; Heidi Serena and spouse Albert. His adoring grandchildren – Piper, Teagan, & Leo Mascio; Charlie Anne and Zachary Kern; Marty and Charlie Williamson. Roy also maintained a friendly relationship with his former wife, Helen Mascio (Williams). Roy's surviving siblings include Philip Mascio, Joanne Smith, William Mascio, Laurie Walski, and Melissa Primus. His Memorial Mass will be held on Friday September 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM from Epiphany of Our Lord RC Church, 3050 Walton Road, Plymouth Meeting, Pa 19462. Family and Friends may call On Friday morning September 12, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 Am at the church In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in his name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS.org).
