James Caprioli Obituary

James "Jim" Lewis Caprioli, 86, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Lansdale, PA & Mountain Home, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Grand View Hospital Hospice in Sellersville, PA. He was the loving husband of Virginia (Borbidge) Caprioli for 65 years. Jim was born in Canadensis, PA to the late Angelo Paul Caprioli and the late Marie Josephine (Gravel) Caprioli Klingel. He attended Barrett High School in Canadensis, PA, class of 1956. Jim then joined the 74th Ordnance Company in the United States Army where he completed his education. He was employed at Greene Tweed Company in Kulpsville, PA for over 40 years, and retired as a production supervisor. Earlier, Jim worked as a painter for Arlin Shisler in Lansdale, PA. He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Hatfield PA. From the age 8-14, Jim attended Girard College for Fatherless Boys in Germantown PA. After retiring, he and Ginnie enjoyed traveling and spending time at their second home in Arnot PA. An avid sportsman, Jim passed his love of nature to his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, quiet and gentle, with a quick, snarky wit, and a deep love of family. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his two daughters, Linda C. Gedman (Robert) of Harleysville, PA, Lorraine S. (Christopher Deckard) Caprioli of Green Lane, PA; his two sons, Daniel J. (Griselle) Caprioli of Kennett Square, PA, Michael J. (Lauren) Caprioli of Telford, PA; and his six grandchildren – Lauren Hutelmyer (Paul), Graham Gedman, Alayna "Connor" Caprioli, Eric Caprioli, Leonardo Caprioli, Lucas Caprioli. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two infant sons, William James & Robert James Caprioli; and his three siblings, Lois Ann Caprioli, George Caprioli, and Marie Bowman. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, PA 19440, with a memorial mass to follow at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's memory to: GoodDays - http://mygooddays.org/donate who provided assistance in covering the prohibitive costs of medications for Jim.
