John R. Besch Jr.

John R. Besch, Jr., 86, of Lansdale, died Monday, February 10, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Warnken) Besch, who died October 26, 2022. Born January 17, 1939 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Ruth (Kessler) and John R. Besch, Sr. John married his high school sweetheart, who he affectionately called Barbie, and was a devoted husband. He held many jobs in the area, his favorite as a Painter/Wallpaper hanger both in the Union and also in partnership with two of his friends. John accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour as a young adult and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lansdale for many years under the leadership of E. Robert Jordan who had a tremendous influence in his life. He served as a deacon, on various committees, and especially enjoyed working at Camp Calvary. As a family, many summer vacations were spent in Villas, NJ and on the beaches of Cape May. He was an avid sports fan and rooted for all of the Philadelphia teams, even enjoying the Eagles Super Bowl win this year the evening prior to his passing. His children and family have many fond memories of Dad, Poppop and Poppi, which will be cherished in our hearts always. Survivors include his children, Lori Barberio of Lansdale, Jeff Besch (Mary) of Roswell, GA, and Amey Besch (Ralien) of Center Valley, PA; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Joyce and Shirley. Relatives and friends may call after 1:30 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler.
