Jonathan Raymond Obituary

Jonathan "Jack" Michael Raymond, 69, of North Coventry, died peacefully at Pottstown Hospital on March 2, 2025. He was fortunate to be surrounded by a room full of loving family as God called on him. Jack courageously battled a progressive neurological disease in the final years of his life. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Melody (DeMichael) Raymond, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. Born on July 24, 1955, Jack was the son of the late Mary (Raymond) Radel and Julius J. Raymond and the stepson of the late Richard J. Radel. He was a 1973 graduate of Pottsgrove High School. Beginning in 1976, and for nearly 50 years, Jack was the owner and operator of Mann's Towing and Auto Body in Pottstown, PA. Those who knew him as "Jake" would testify to his superior workmanship and excellent customer service, which connected him with many people who were proud to call him a friend. He took great pride in everything he did, from raising his family to serving his community through his business. Jack was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, devoted dog lover (most especially to his dear friend Bubbies), voracious reader, Corvette and Harley-Davidson enthusiast, and caretaker of his serene property. His passion for his sons' athletic endeavors was evident beginning in the days of coaching tee-ball and lasting throughout their time in collegiate sports. Jack is survived by his three sons, Justin Raymond, Jonathan Raymond, husband of Melissa, and Matthew Raymond. He was the proud grandfather to three beautiful grandchildren, Eulalia, Jacob, and Julius, who affectionately called him "G-Pa". He is also survived by his four siblings: Linda Woodley, wife of Donald; Mark Radel; John Radel, husband of Bella; and Jan (Raymond) McDermott, wife of Michael. He has nine nieces and nephews and four great-nieces. In place of flowers, please consider donating to Justice Rescue or the Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network (DSDN), charitable organizations that remain near and dear to Jack. Visitation will be held on March 8, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother, 127 E. Howard St., Stowe, PA 19464. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be private. Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences may be shared with the family online at www.houckgofusfuneralhome.com.
