Joseph J. Elsesser

Joseph J. "Joe" Elsesser, age 78, of Harleysville, formerly of Telford, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Born March 1, 1946, in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late William and Irene (Uditis) Palmer. He was a 1964 graduate of North Penn High School. Joe was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked in the automobile sales industry for most of his life, as the General Manager of Souderton Motors and later as an automobile salesman for Bergey's in Franconia. After retirement, he worked part time as a cashier at Giant Supermarket where he loved to chat with friends and strangers alike as well parents of his grandchildren's friends and teammates. Joe was a life member of Perseverance Volunteer Fire Department where he spent countless hours serving his community. Joe's greatest love was for his family, especially his grandchildren. On any given weekend you could find him at different area athletic fields cheering on his two favorite athletes. He also enjoyed spending time with his family in the Adirondacks as well as working on projects in the garage with his son and grandson. Joe is survived by his son, Scott Elsesser and his wife, Michelle of Tylersport; grandchildren, Scott and Josephine Elsesser of Tylersport; brother, Michael Palmer of Boynton Beach, FL; significant other of his late son, Deb Whitley of Boyertown; mother of his sons, Janet Stowe of East Greenville. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Elsesser. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, where the family will greet guests from 10:00 – 11:45 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Perseverance Volunteer Fire Department, 266 N. 2nd Street, Souderton, PA 18964.
