Joyce Gunn Obituary

Joyce May Gunn, 95, a long-time resident of Poplar Valley, died Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Gluco Lodge in Hamilton Township. Born on May 2, 1930 in East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Sylvia (Vaughn) Gunn and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. Joyce worked for Edward R. Lawson Co., Pocono Distributing Co. and the Borough of Delaware Water Gap. She was a long-time member of the Poplar Valley United Methodist Church and the Monroe Chapter #99 Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are several cousins and many friends. Services will be held on Saturday, August 16th, beginning at 10:00AM at the Poplar Valley United Methodist Church, 1035 Poplar Valley Road East, Stroudsburg (village of Poplar Valley), with Rev. Paul Crikelair officiating. Private burial will take place at Laurelwood Cemetery. As per Joyce's wishes, there will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to the scholarship fund of Poplar Valley United Methodist Church.
